about me.
I’m a graphic designer, photographer, and art director with 19 years of design experience and 15 years behind the camera. Originally from South Africa, I spent a year in Bahrain, then a few years in Kent, and now I’m lucky to call the beautiful seaside town of Llandudno in North Wales home.
I started out as a layout artist at a magazine, where I found my love for editorial design and photography. There’s something about the balance of visuals, typography, and storytelling that’s always stuck with me, and it still shapes the way I work today.
Over the years, I’ve worked with clients across a wide range of industries, often stepping in as their creative partner—not just to make things look good, but to help bring clarity and consistency to their brand. One thing I know for sure is that I love building long-term relationships with the people I work with. Good design comes from collaboration, and I’m in it for the long haul.
That’s exactly why I created Stroke of Luck Studio. The name? A little nod to my maiden name, Luck—and a reminder that great design often comes from a mix of skill, intuition, and just the right timing.
I know my way around branding, layouts, and making things look great—whether it’s a magazine spread, a website, or a full brand identity. My focus is on clean, effective design that does the job. No fluff or overcomplicated concepts, just thoughtful visuals that help businesses stand out.
Art direction is a key part of what I do, too. I think about how everything connects—photography, design, messaging, marketing—and how it all tells your brand’s story.
Big-picture thinking with an eye for detail?
That’s where I’m at my best.
